OUR FINDINGS AND SELECTION
What does pre-loved mean?
Pre-loved simply means that a product has had a previous life. At EFFEN•stil, we select and curate pre-loved finds with an eye for style, quality, and condition, so they are ready for a new life with a new owner.
Are all items on EFFEN•stil pre-loved?
No. We also have new items that naturally fit into our universe and our focus on more conscious choices. This can include surplus stock items that we pass on rather than letting them go to waste, as well as new care products and wardrobe accessories.
Why do you sell both pre-loved and new items?
Because EFFEN•style is all about good style and quality as a whole. Our new products are not seasonal fast fashion — we carefully select them based on function, quality, and a design that deserves a place with us.
What does vintage mean at EFFEN•stil?
For us, vintage refers to clothing and accessories from an older period with specific characteristics. We assess items based on seams, material choice, details, colors, cuts, and time period. It is the overall impression that determines whether a find is classified as vintage.
QUALITY, CONDITION AND PREPARATION
How do you select your products?
Each find is assessed based on style, quality, condition, and whether it has something special about it. We look for strong natural materials, good brands, and fine details. The most important thing is that we ourselves believe it's a find that deserves a place in a wardrobe — and that we can pass on with a clear conscience.
How do you assess the condition of an item?
We thoroughly inspect each item before lighting and photographing. We assess material, color, pilling, stains, and signs of wear. If an item has minor flaws that can be repaired, we make sure to fix them — either ourselves or professionally. We never sell items with flaws that do not belong in our assortment.
Are your pre-loved items washed and prepared?
Yes, when necessary. We always assess each item and its material to best care for both the garment and the environment. Some items receive a gentle wash or our own "vintage soup soak," while special materials and finds are sent to a professional dry cleaner. Each item is fresh, neat, and ready to wear from day one.
What happens if a finding does not meet the standard?
If an item of clothing does not meet our sales standards, we do not let it go to waste. Instead, it can be used as materials in our Second Chance line or be donated for recycling or to kindergartens. We believe that things should be used as long as they have more to give.
PRICES, SIZES, AND AVAILABILITY
Why are some items only available as a single unit?
Because most pre-loved and vintage finds are unique. That's part of the charm — you can find something truly special that may not come around again.
Will an item return if it's out of stock?
Not always. When a unique find has been sold, it is rarely possible to find the same item again. However, new finds are constantly being added to the webshop, so keep an eye on the shop and our social media channels.
Why can prices vary on similar products?
We have a fixed price guide for our children's clothing, but prices for other finds are assessed individually based on brand, material, condition, rarity, and unique characteristics.
When do you have sales?
We do not have ongoing sales. Offers only occur on special occasions such as mid-season sales or selected campaigns. In addition, we offer bundle prices on our Creative Kits.
SELL TO US & SPECIAL REQUESTS
Can I sell my clothes to EFFEN•stil?
Yes and no. We primarily buy selected brands and especially vintage. We do not sell on commission but buy items directly at an agreed price if they fit into our assortment. If you have something special, you are welcome to contact us by email.
Can I request a specific brand or size?
We do not accept standing orders, as our selection depends on what we hand-pick. The selection changes constantly, so you have to act fast when the right find appears.
Can I get more information or measurements for an item?
Yes, of course! If you want to know the bust size, length, or have the material elaborated on, you can always write to us via live chat or at kundeservice@effenstil.dk — we are happy to get the measuring tape out for you.
